I try to read this stuff when I can, and to post when I think about it. I did try to post a comment on David Hopkins' "Crackers," but it didn't show up for some reason. (Let's lay the blame squarely where it belongs: on the technology -- never on me *grin*.)
I suppose much of what you see and read about postmodernity in Christianity is still the domain of white European males -- Derrida, Lyotard, Foucault, et. al. -- but certainly the philosophy of postmodernism is being lived out to some extent by all postmoderns, whether we're aware of it or not (and whether or not we call ourselves postmoderns).
In my original post, I made reference to an April 16 Newsweek article, "The Changing Face of the Church," which points out that Christianity has mushroomed into a truly global faith during the past century, and that people of color will deeply affect the faith on an international level in coming years. While church membership has been on the decline in the West, it is growing tremendously in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
