Hi,
I live in the UK in a small town. My wife and I are missionaries with a group called OM. I servbe Internationals and regular(if their are any)University students.
We have a small church that we have been attending for years and I have been very frustrated that the Leadership (Elders) within the church do not take the time to develop relationships with any one else who is not an Elder. They are British men and do not relate well on an emotional level and being transparent. They don't see it at all. We do not have a full time pastor. They are all very busy men and they say that they would like to spend time with people but they have other responsibilities. I am writing them a letter this week saying if you don't have time to be a relational Elder then please step aside an appoint people who have some degree of maturity and time to commit to mentoring people. They spend time with people in putting out fires in some folks lives but not building into peoples lives. Am I off the wall. I am not especting these people to pursue me, I am American and way to emotional for them but we have some other great Brits in the group who could grow into Eldership.
They really don't have a long term plan just realling expecting this one guy to hear from God it seems on a monthly basis but never any thing specific as a long term plan to get our butts in gear. Please e-mail .
Cheers
Tim
