My name is Brent Carl, and I'm a Youth Pastor in NY. Every Thursday night we have any where from 60-80 skaters showing up to hone some skills in our gym. They use old tables, trash cans, rails, even the old pool table frome the youth room, finally found a real purpose. Any way, like the article the skaters were God's idea, they just started showing up. Before the "word got out" our church leadership didn't know that we had skaters showing up, so it wasn't a problem to have them skate, but now with so many more coming each week, insurance questions are coming up. My question is really, what kind of insurance should we look at & how much does it cost. We're covered for youth ministry sponsored events etc. but they list skating in with hang gliding & bungee jumping and won't cover us for it. I refuse to see this wave of God's moving be shut down because of an issue like this...Can anyone point me in the right direction?
