Publisher's notes ---
February 2001
Each month as I
sit down to write this section of the Next-Wave web "magazine"
I try to think of a different way to say that we have some great content
for our readers this month. While Next-Wave may not have the slickest
design, or the best "community" interface, I know we have some
great content.
Contributing
editor, David Hopkins, takes a tongue-in-cheek look at Postmodern
cool. Todd Hunter, former national director of the Association of
Vineyard Churches comments on the differences
in church planting twenty years later. Chad Hall essays the
increasing use of spiritual
content in theaters. Dean Smith reports on the emergence
of the "new" church. Two of our articles contain some
controversial and strong content. They are Mark Riddles's Dennis
Milleresque rant on the selling
of American pastors and Jason Morris' article on Why
the Gay Community Will Succeed. To round out this month's offering
we have the first part of Stephen Shield's treatise on the dangers
of navigating postmodern currents and Kim Gente's review
of a recent CD offering from Integrity Music. This is some good
stuff...
I encourage you to
respond to the content of Next-Wave in one of two ways: either by e-mail
or by posting a message to our discussion
page. Representative e-mail responses are published in our letters
section.
Once again, thanks
for your continued interest in Next-Wave. I invite you to get further
involved by responding, discussing or by writing an article (please see Call for
Papers).
Blessings,

Charlie Wear,
