Publisher's notes --- May 2000
This is the time of year for social outings. Graduations and Mother's Day and Weddings.....People to honor and people to bless. This is an especially big month for me since my youngest son has graduated from college and my daughter is getting married this week. Even in the postmodern world life has its milestones and high points...

This month's issue of Next-Wave is special for a number of reasons. I owe a debt of gratitude to Timothy Lo, who has kindly provided a re-design for Next-Wave. Please let me know how you like our new look.

Then there are this month's articles: Contributing editor, Eric Stanford finds that the Bible has some "cool" literary aspects. Rev. Susan Buchanan provides an excellent example of narrative preaching with her sermon, My Friend Jane. Jordon Cooper, a teaching pastor in a Modern Church, talks about the relational aspects of launching a "church within a church." Seminary student Alex Forrest contemplates the unfashionability of ethics in today's cultural context. We continue to reprise Dr. Leonard Sweet's article about the millennium celebrations and Who wants to be a Millionaire? Kim Gentes, president of WorshipMusic.com, reviews the latest release from PDI, Everlasting.

Blessings,
