Welcome

rogier.gif (7581 bytes)Okay, I admit it. NEXT-WAVE is now five months old, and am only just starting to learn what being an editor is all about. As we are only a small organization, made up only of volunteers, much of the work falls on my shoulders: finding people to write, the artwork, mailing list management, search-engine searches, etc. The life of an editor is multi-faceted, seldom boring, and often tense. Deadline, deadline, deadline!

But I am also learning that the editor takes tremendous pride in his work. And while I was excited about all the other issues (all four of them), I am truly excited about the extensive interview we offer this month with Dr. Stanley Grenz. he is without doubt one of the premier theologians of the evangelical movement, and he has opened the eyes of many to the emergence of the postmodern era. We are very thankful that he has been so generous with his time to a new publication such as NEXT-WAVE.

Also in this issue: an article about the theology of Star Wars. You will never view The Force with the same eyes again. We are also very thankful for Mark Tittley who opens the conversation about the so-called 'Millennials' with an article he contributes from South Africa.

This months photo report comes from the Young Leaders Forum held in Costa Mesa, California last month. Young Leader is one of the premier organizations when it comes to church leadership and planting in a postmodern world, and their forum was excellent. Read and see it all for yourself.

Next-Wave is growing. Over 3000 readers visit Next-Wave every month. We are excited by that. We hope you like what you see. If you do (or if you don't), why don't you let us know?

Peace,

Roger
editor

PS. In the month of June Rogier and his wife and three kids will move from California to Europe, where they will join Christian Associates International, a church planting organization.
